Podcasts to listen to in your twenties.

I listen to podcasts every day. Whether I’m walking to school, in between classes or while I’m cooking or doing laundry, I play a random episode of some of my favorite podcasts. And podcasts today talk about everything; from finance to books, to fashion to mental health, anything. You could search stars or stones on any music search engine and you’ll find it. It is a great way to learn anything passively or to simply have a laugh. In this post, let’s explore some diverse voices and perspectives which I find entertaining and deeply relatable. That being said, here are some of the podcasts I listen to regularly;

1.Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain.

You can’t talk about podcasts without talking about Anything Goes. I’ve been watching Emma Chamberlain on YouTube since she started posting videos. I love how authentic she is. Emma has always been someone who is unapologetically herself. I love watching her weird fashion and food her cats and her thrifting vlogs. And when she started her podcast, of course I had to listen to her. Her podcast, like the title, has episodes about anything. I love how open-minded she is about certain topics and how she is able to speak her mind. Sometimes she talks about important topics, sometimes she gives advice and other times it’s just random episodes. When I listen to her, I always feel like I’m having a conversation with a friend. Her episodes are what I listen to when I walk to school or when I just need to relax. And as much as we need advice from people older than us, I think it’s important to also hear from people who are on the same level as we are. So this is one of those comfort podcasts if you need one.https://open.spotify.com/show/5VzFvh1JlEhBMS6ZHZ8CNO?si=cac7763e9c3d4f06

2.So This is Love with Julia Gaitho.

‘…is it better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all?’

On her podcast, Julia explores relationships and love or lack thereof. Relationships are more complicated than meets the eye and everyone who’s been in one knows this. As you grow up, it’s not black and white anymore. You hang in a gray limbo. And this is what Julia’s podcast explores. She interviews guests who tell their stories and what they learnt from them or what they could have done differently. I love how eloquent she is, the way she listens and analyzes and asks questions. Relationships, platonic or romantic, are a part of growing up and when we are young, we don’t really get prepared for this. And by this I mean the complexity that comes with all of it. Listening to podcasts that sort of shed some light on how to navigate some of my relationships are really helpful. This is a great podcast if you feel the same way. https://open.spotify.com/show/0DDeORYJfJyqkHDkTCf5uD?si=5381beedd94245ff

3. Saved not Soft with Emy Moore.

Emy Moore is a 23-year-old Christian who brings a whole new perspective on Christianity, especially in regards to young people. Like the title suggests, her podcast is all about proving that you can be Christian and a baddie at the same time. For the last decade, religion among young people has been declining. And this has been one of the challenges the church has faced…bringing young people back to God. In this podcast, Emy talks about being a Christian and the challenges one goes through in a fun and relatable way. She brings up topics of real-time issues we face and how to deal with them in a way that brings glory to God. Religion is a touchy topic for a lot of people. But Emy highlights the reasons why Christianity is important in a way that doesn’t scold you or enforce it on you. I especially like her tik-tok videos on ‘pick-it-up-and-preach’ which she does with her friends. So if you’re not particularly sure about listening to her podcast, check out some of her short-form content like tiktoks and YouTube shorts. https://open.spotify.com/show/5oY4LlCJRtuzCAH9MelvcY?si=d66fcfca027242be

4. High Low with EmRata.

Emily Ratajkowski is a well-known name in the modeling industry having worked with some of the biggest brands and modelling agencies in the industry. Not only is she a model, but she’s also an actor, an author and a mom too. Behind the scenes though, Emily has been objectified for most of her career. And she’s talked about this in her book ‘My Body’ and on interviews too. EmRata has always been a feminist and she strongly believes in women feeling empowered in their own bodies. She is an advocate for women’s rights and also in women being able to express their sexuality without judgement or hate. In her podcast, she talks about the challenges she and her guests have faced in the entertainment industry and other issues within it. She also discusses pop culture, modeling and life in general. Some of the guests she has interviewed include Diplo, Winnie Harlow, Victoria Monet, Chloe Cherry, Mia Khalifa, BIA, Flo Milli and others. I think her podcast is really insightful and overall a great listen.

5. The Wellness Cafe with Trinity Tondeleir.

The last podcast on my list is ‘The Wellness Cafe’. I love a girls’ girl, and Trinity Tondeleir is one of them. In her podcast she talks about lifestyle, girl-talk, vision boards, achieving goals, change and so many other things. I love listening to her especially in the morning. Her episodes are about how to navigate being a girl in this day and age. She discusses everything from health to hot-girl glow up tips to summer must-haves. It gives off big-sister vibes. Her episodes are also very diverse depending on what phase of life you are going through. You should definitely add this to your list of podcasts this year. https://open.spotify.com/show/3fcM9t1YNVh211oSkpxPoJ?si=f04eca8e3802464d
